Skin Blading and DermaPlaning, are they not the same? In this training, we will clarify the difference of Skin Blading and DermaPlaning for Aesthetics Clinicians. To start, Skin Blading is a term coined by Isabel Calleros, a well-seasoned skin care professional with 45+ years. Skin blading is the umbrella term used to identify the process or technique used in removing the superficial necrotic skin cells on the horney layers of the epidermis using a surgical blade, while DermaPlaning is a specific procedure/protocol performed. These skin cells are dry, brittle, and ready for desquamation. When left on the skin for a period, they give the skin a dull, dry, flakey and wrinkled appearance. This training will introduce three specific procedures and protocols for Skin Blading; Oil Blading, MicroPlaning and Aesthetics DermaPlaning.
